SPC E-4 James Allen Waters SPC E-4 James Allen Waters SPC E-4. James Allen Waters “Jimmy”, 21, died Friday, July 1, 2011 in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He was a resident of Cloverdale.

James was born on Sept. 2, 1989 in Indianapolis to Garry and Valerie (Aldous) Waters.

James attended Clark- Pleasant Schools and graduated from Whiteland Community High School in the Class of 2008. While in high school he was on the wrestling and football teams.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in September of 2009. He was deployed to Afghanistan in March of this year. He had received seven medals and citations while in the military. His unit was 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division based at Fort Drum, New York. James was a dedicated and enthusiastic soldier.

He enjoyed fishing, paintball and spending time with his family and friends. James liked to make people laugh and enjoyed having fun.

Survivors include, his parents, Garry and Valerie Waters of Cloverdale, a sister, Jennifer (Ryan) Mitchell of Cloverdale, three brothers, Anthony, Andrew and Joe Waters, all of Cloverdale, grandparents, Pauletta and Gene Curry of Indianapolis and Karen Lafollette of Spencer, grandfathers, Kenneth Waters of Mass. and William (Alice) Aldous of Pa., Grandma Callon of Greenwood, niece, Emalyn Mitchell of Clovedale, fiancée Jordan Gibson of Indianapolis, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Rev. Mickey Roy conducted a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at Whiteland Community High School, 300 Main St, Whiteland, IN. 46184.
