Bark For Life Event Coming To Owen YMCA, August 20

It’s official… the Owen County Family YMCA has gone to the dogs, at least it will on Saturday, August 20 beginning at 8:00 a.m.

The American Cancer Society will hold ‘Bark For Life,’ a canine event to fight cancer at the Owen County Family YMCA on that day. Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. and the walk begins at 9:00 a.m.

Registration is $10 per dog in advance and $15 the day of the event. Each dog will receive a free gift. Dogs must be vaccinated and on a leash. Owners should be prepared to clean up after their four-legged friends as well.

This event is being touted as a ‘Relay For Life’ with our four-legged loved ones, so show your Relay spirit. Prizes will be awarded for best relay dog, a costume contest, doggy talent and top dog fundraiser. There will be fun, music, vendors and contests for both dogs and their owners.
