Norman “Dale” Madson

Norman “Dale” Madson, 91, Greencastle, formerly of Cunot and Indianapolis, passed away on October 7, 2011, at Asbury Towers, Greencastle, Indiana. He was born on February 22, 1920 in Toledo, Ohio, and was the son of the late Charles and Goldie [Peck] Madson.

He married Norma Newkirk in 1943 and they had one son. Later he was married to Naomi Ruth Turner Young for over 25 years. Both preceded him in death.

He is survived by his son Robert Madson and wife, Judi, Danville; grandsons, Scott Jared, Indianapolis and Craig Jared, Douglasville, Georgia; nephews, Dennis, Gary and Mike, of Toledo, Ohio; and a long time friend, Sarah Barnes.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, during WW II, was stationed mainly in New Guinea. He was a long time member of the Faith Baptist Church, Cloverdale. He went out on home visitations and did out of state prison ministries for over fourteen years.

Most of his life, Dale was in sales, mostly selling cars. His most recent and last position was with Speedway Volkswagen, as a car exchange driver. He retired after he reached the age of 88.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
