WP Woods was the first President of the Lions Club International, and he was from Evansville, Indiana. The award is the highest given by the state organization.

Charlie has been a member of the Cloverdale Lions since 1995, currently serving as the club’s vice president. He has sponsored several new members into the club, and he is the club’s main ‘Go To’ guy. Whatever is needed, he does. Whatever you ask, he steps up. This year, he was trained to do eye screenings and helped to screen at the Cloverdale schools. Charlie has chaired the club’s Scholarship Committee for several years, and he has been a long time member of the Civic Award committee. This year, he also volunteered for the State Lions by working security at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the MotoGP motorcycle event. On top of everything else, Charlie is simply a blast to work with at any of the club’s events or projects.
