Cloverdale Lions Present Community Civic Award To Kerry Shepherd

(Courtesy photo) The Cloverdale Lions Club presented the 16th annual Cloverdale Civic Award to Kerry Shepherd. The nominations for this award come from the general public, and the Lions Club would like to thank everyone who submitted a nomination form. Over sixty people were in attendance to celebrate the presentation.

Mr. Shepherd was presented this award as a thank you for the numerous volunteer hours he devotes to the betterment of the Cloverdale community.

Mr. Shepherd has been a member of the Cloverdale Township Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years, and he is currently in his ninth year as Chief. The department has received several grants under his leadership, which has enabled the department to be very prepared for different types of emergencies.

Mr. Shepherd joins previous Civic Award recipients Joyce Johnson, Mona Smith, Bob Hostetter, Don Walton, Jeff Rich, Rosemary (Davis) Berry, Jack Davis, Dr. Keith Ernst, Eric Hayman, Vera Hughes, Adeline Knoy, Bill Henson, Judy Whitaker, Rod Garrett, Norv Gottula and Wayne Sutherlin. He was presented a plaque by members of the Cloverdale Community Civic Award Committee, and his name has been inscribed on a plaque that is displayed in the Cloverdale Town Hall. Members of the Cloverdale Community Civic Award Committee this year were Jim Dean, Charlie Simon, James McKee, Norv Gottula and Todd Lewis.
