Cloverdale United Methodist Will Host Smart Choice Food Ministry

The holidays are behind us and we are into a new year. What better New Year’s resolution can we make than to lower our grocery bills? Well, there is a solution. Cloverdale United Methodist church, located at 364 W. Robert Weist Avenue in Cloverdale is host church for a new and wonderful food ministry. The name is SMART CHOICE FOOD MINISTRY.

This ministry has replaced Angel Food. The food is quite good and the cost is slightly lower than Angel Food. The main box of food, called THE SMART BOX is $35 and contains over 15# of protein. There is also a SENIOR MEAL box for $25 and it contains seven complete meals geared toward our seniors. All that is needed is an 8 oz. glass of milk to have a complete and well balanced meal. There are four special boxes also. You do need to order either a SMART BOX or a SENIOR MEAL BOX in order to order a VALUE BOX. There is no limit as to the quantities that you order. At this time they take cash, check, or money orders. They are in the process of waiting for their FSN number, which will allow them to take food stamp orders They are expecting to receive this sometime in January.

They will be taking orders at the church on Saturday, January 7, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, and again on Monday, January 9, from 4 to 5 p.m., or you may mail your order, along with your payment to: CUMC, 109 Autumn Glen N. Drive, Greencastle, IN 46135. Checks and money orders should be made out to CUMC. For further information, please call Bette Ireland at 765-719-1323. Distribution will be held on January 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church.
