George F. Call, Jr., 86

George F. Call, Jr. George F. Call, Jr. George F. Call, Jr., 86, Friendship, Indiana, passed away on January 17, 2012,at Madison, Indiana. He was born on August 4, 1925, in St. Clair County, Illinois. He graduated from Gerstmeyer High School, in Terre Haute and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17. Soon after, he was fighting in the Pacific during WWII. Along with many other medals and accommodations, he was decorated with two purple hearts. After returning from the Pacific, he did a semester at UCLA and then joined the Ironworker Local #379 and #22. He daily walked narrow beams at unbelievable heights. Some of his exciting jobs included assisting in the building of the St. Louis Arch, Texas Astrodome, and the Bridge of the Ohio River. George loved many things including, but not limited to, his cat Ku-Tae, and his Saturday night Polka.

He is survived by his wife, Dottie Call and children, Nicki [Curt] Bingman and their children, Christiane, Morgen, Keegen and Gaven, Patty Conley and children, Hannah and Cody, John Lanham and child, Dylan and Bob Lanham and children, Jeremy, Shauna and Jason.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., at the Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery. Memorial Services will be held on Sun., Feb. 12, 2012, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post # 58, Greencastle.
