Audition For ‘The Curious Savage’ At The Putnam County Playhouse

Putnam County Playhouse will have two sessions of auditions for the comedy “The Curious Savage.” The first session will be Sunday, May 20, at 3:00 p.m. The second will be Monday, May 21, at 7:00 p.m. Both sessions will be in the Rehearsal Center of the Hazel Day Longden Theatre in Greencastle.

“The Curious Savage” is being sponsored by Rossok & Co Insurance and Pekin Insurance.

Director Jack Randall Earles says there are eleven roles for adults in the cast. The characters include Ethel Savage, an older widow whose husband has left her ten million dollars; her grown children, Lilly Belle, Titus, and Samuel; and the guests at the Cloisters, an exclusive sanitarium including Jeffrey, a young war hero; Fairy May, a ballerina; Hannibal, a violin player; Mrs. Paddy, a painter who hates the world; and Florence, a grieving mother. Also to be cast are two staff members of the Cloisters, Dr. Emmet and his nurse, Miss Wilhelmina.

No monologue is necessary. Those auditioning will be asked to read scenes from the script. Those wishing to work backstage are also encouraged to attend the audition and fill out a form.

The comedy by John Patrick will be produced July 12-14 and July 18-21. For more information, visit the PCPH website at: www.putnamcountyplayhouse.com.

The 51st season of Putnam County Playhouse opens June 7 with “Clue The Musical.”
