Hugh M. Carter, 80

Hugh M. Carter, of Dadeville, MO, departed this life on Friday, August 24, 2012 in the Dade County Nursing Home at the age of 80 years.

He was born on March 21, 1932, in Bloomington, Indiana, to Clarence Earl and Irmal Glee (Michael) Carter.

Hugh served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He was united in marriage to Eileen Marie Henson on July 2, 1961, in Cloverdale, Indiana.

Hugh was a music teacher and a band director. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Bona, MO, and a former long time member of the Church of Christ at Cloverdale, Indiana.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Clarence and Irmal Carter; and two infant brothers.

Survivors include his loving wife, Eileen Carter of the home; two sons, Brad Carter and his wife JoAnna of Dadeville, Missouri and Michael Carter and his wife Sara of North Little Rock, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Erin Sayre and her husband Zeke of Dadeville, Missouri, Emily Carter of Bolivar, Missouri, Jessie Carter of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and Michaela Carter of North Little Rock, Arkansas; one brother, Stanley Carter and his wife Lola of Cloverdale, Indiana; four nieces; and seven nephews.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2012 in the Church of Christ at Bona. Burial followed in the Bona Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fair Haven Children’s Home in Strafford, Missouri, or to Childhaven International.

Services were under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
