Staff Recognized For Service

(Courtesy photo) Staff at the Putnamville Correctional Facility were recognized in appreciation of their service to the facility and the Indiana Department of Correction.

During a staff assembly, Officer Howard Wilson, from Greencastle IN, was awarded the Governor’s Long-term Service Award. Wilson, who began his career in the Indiana Department of Correction on October 1, 1977, received the award in recognition of 35 years of service. “Thirtyfive years is quite an accomplishment,” said Superintendent Stanley Knight. “I congratulate Mr. Wilson on his achievement and extend my thanks and appreciation to all Putnamville staff for their efforts.”

Assistant Superintendent Tim Phegley announced the recipients of the facility Employee of the Quarter awards. “Your hard work and dedication has not gone unnoticed,” Phegley told staff, “and it’s with great pleasure that I present awards to the following individuals: Custody Officer of the Quarter - Randall Gordon, from Quincy IN; Non-Custody Employee of the Quarter - Caseworker Nora Spence, Brazil IN; and Terre Haute IN residents Sergeant Daniel Bell - Custody Supervisor of the Quarter and Administrative Assistant Alisia Lawrence - Non-Custody Supervisor of the Quarter.

A retirement celebration was held at the conclusion of the assembly in honor of Caseworker Jim Louderback, from Brazil IN, who retired with 33 years of service, and Clerical Assistant Patty Freeman, from Ellettsville IN, who retired with 27 years of service.
