Staff Writer

The Cloverdale School Board came together Monday, October 8, for their regularly scheduled monthly meeting. All board members were present with the exception of David Brinkman.

The evening was full of routine agenda items including the approval of meeting minutes, claims and financial reports and policy review.

With little further discussion, the board moved to adopt the proposed 2013 budgets, capital projects plan, school bus replacement plan and resolutions during the meeting.

The board heard updates from Dan Sulkoske and Gerard Skibinski regarding the current facility projects. The roof projects are ongoing despite the recent rain. The HVAC projects are now ready to be advertised for bids.

Cloverdale Athletic Director James Wade also addressed the board members, highlighting the wonderful things going on in Cloverdale athletics. Included in the brief presentation was the mention of CHS girls’ golf senior Sydney Shrum and her top 25 finish out of 100 at the IHSAA state meet, the ongoing success of the CHS volleyball squad, and the wonderful seasons the CMS football teams are having.

The board approved a number of items under new business, including a noncertified position stipend, non-certified position adjustments, and a resolution allowing pre-approval of field trips, facility use permits and professional leave requests.

Also approved were several professional leave, field trip, cash transfer and facility use requests.
