It was win number 21 for the Lady Clovers as they won on Senior Night. They started out with a close 25-23 win in the first game but struggled in the second game, falling 25-12 to tie the match. Both of the next two games were close, but the Lady Clovers were able to take the edge, winning game three 25-20 and game four 26-24.

“It’s been a great year,” explained Cloverdale coach Kathy Moore. “I am very proud of these young women.

They have worked hard to accomplish their goals this season, and we still have a goal or two to work on in sectionals.”

The Lady Clovers finished the regular season with a record of 21-5.

Lindsay Robson had a solid match behind the service line, coming up with 11 points to lead CHS. Paige Gruener and Rebekah Jordan each served for five points, Bradanne Toney had four points, and Taylor Jones and Adrianna Patterson each had two.

At the net, Toney had a big match with 30 kills, while Jones had eight, Patterson seven, five for Gruener, Bristy Skiles three, and Robson one. Skiles also had 39 set assists and Robson had two.

On defense, Toney led with 13 digs and seven blocks. Jordan had 11 digs, Robson 10, Jones nine, Gruener eight, Skiles six, Patterson three, and Kimmy Winders two.

In the final game of the season for the junior varsity, the Lady Clovers also earned a 2-1 win over the Lady Miners. They finished the season with a record of 17-5.

The Lady Clovers will be participating in the Covenant Christian Sectional this coming Saturday, October 20 in the second semi-final match against the Cascade Lady Cadets. The match begins at 12:30 p.m. A win will put them in the championship match, scheduled for Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

Coach Moore explained that it will not be an each match-up. “We know it will be a battle,” she said. But they are looking to return home Saturday with another sectional title.
