State Road 46W Bridge Near Bowling Green Scheduled To Reopen Sunday, November 4



Closed for repairs since July 31st, the State Road 46 West bridge spanning the Eel River near Bowling Green is scheduled to soon reopen. According to information provided by Debbie Calder, Communications Director for the Indiana Department of Transportation’s Crawfordsville District, Danville-based George R. Harvey & Son, Inc. is expected to finish reinforcement work on the 79-year-old structure ahead of the planned Sunday, November 4 reopening. To date, workers have removed rust from the steel beams supporting the bridge and are in the process of adding new steel to strengthen the structure. This portion of repairs is expected to total $274,033, while repairs made in late 2011 cost the state $42,927.
