Cloverdale Lions Present Community Civic Award To Dewey Garrett

The Cloverdale Lions Club presented the 17th annual Cloverdale Civic Award to Dewey Garrett. The nominations for this award come from the general public, and the Lions Club would like to thank everyone who submitted a nomination form. Over sixty people were in attendance to celebrate the presentation.

Mr. Garrett was presented this award as a thank you for the numerous volunteer hours he has devoted to the betterment of the Cloverdale community.

One of the nomination forms stated, “I have never met anyone more committed to the community and the children of Cloverdale. He worked in our community, he served on many community boards, both for the town and the school, and he donated much of his time to support our local youth. He never expects anything in return, but asks that you always support Cloverdale. When we talk of bleeding GREEN for our community and children, no one leads by example better than Dewey Garrett.”

Mr. Garrett joins previous Civic Award recipients Kerry Shepherd, Joyce Johnson, Mona Smith, Bob Hostetter, Don Walton, Jeff Rich, Rosemary (Davis)Berry, Jack Davis, Dr. Keith Ernst, Eric Hayman, Vera Hughes,Adeline Knoy, Bill Henson, Judy Whitaker, Rod Garrett, Norv Gottula and Wayne Sutherlin. He was presented a plaque by members of the Cloverdale Community Civic Award Committee, and his name has been inscribed on a plaque that is displayed in the Cloverdale Town Hall.
