Owen 4-H Hippology Team Does Well At Purdue State Contests

Twelve 4-Hers recently competed at the state horse demonstration, hippology and horse bowl contests at Purdue University. A horse demo intermediate team of Dustin Freeman and Trenton Henderson, with their demo over horse hooves, placed first in the state. A senior team consisting of Katie Grigsby and Cassie Lehmann did their demo over leg fractures in race horses and were state runner up placing 2nd.

All 12 4-Hers competed in hippology. A novice team of Brooklyn Henderson,

Desiree Dickinson, David Freeman, and Makayla Freeman placed 4th overall in Indiana. Individual Brooklyn Henderson placed 3rd novice overall in Indiana.

In Horse Bowl, a novice team consisting of Brooklyn Henderson, Desiree Dickinson, David Freeman, and Makayla Freeman place 3rd overall. The senior horse bowl team consisting of Katie Grigsby, Cassie Lehmann, Elijah Smith, Trevor Smith, and Dustin Freeman also competed, but didn’t place.

Becci Smith, Amanda Dickinson, Joni Grigsby, Robin Vibbart, Shane and Stephanie Freeman for hauling kids and helping support and root the kids on.
