Owen-Putnam State Forest Plans Open House Saturday, April 13th

Ralph Unversaw Ralph Unversaw One of Owen County’s “hidden gems,” the Owen Putnam State Forest will host its annual open house on Saturday, April 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the forest office.

The District Forester from Owen and Monroe counties, Ralph Unversaw, will be on hand to answer any of your woodland questions. Unversaw will also be guiding a tree and wildflower identification hike at 1:30 p.m. Anyone who has an interest in their state forest, forestry or natural resources, is encouraged to attend. The staff will be giving away a variety of tree seedlings and light refreshments will be available.

The Owen-Putnam State Forest office is located about five miles west of Spencer off of State Road 46 on Fishcreek Road.
