Collins Finishes Tied For Third At Mid-Atlantic Championship

(Courtesy Photo) Cloverdale native and local PGA Tour competitor Chad Collins finished the weekend tied for third place in the PGA’s Web. com Tour Mid-Atlantic Championship held at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm in Potomac, Maryland.

Collins’ third place tie earned him a $31,200 payday alongside Daniel Chopra and Bronson La’Cassie The trio finished behind first place finisher Michael Putnam and Chesson Hadley, who finished third.

Collins finished Friday tied for second place with birdies on holes 6, 10, 13 and 18 in the first round of play. He closed round two with birdies on holes 2, 3, 4, 7, 16 and 17, with bogeys on holes 6, 11 and 15.

On Saturday, Collins made his way to a first place tie with Putnam after the pair earned a 54-hole lead with even-par scores of 70.

Collins has recorded two top 25 finishes in his 10 events played in 2013, making the cut five times and earning a total of $43,545 for the year. Collins has already played in two more events than in 2012 when he made the cut just three times and earned just $8,252.

The next event on the Web.com Tour is the Air Capital Classic set for this coming weekend, June 13 through 16 at Crestview Country Club in Witchita, Kansas.
