The Cloverdale School Board addressed a rather light agenda June 10th, highlighted by several retirements and resignations.

Hearing first from project manager Dan Sulkoske, the board learned that both the high school and middle school roofing projects have been completed, pending final inspection. Money is being withheld related to both projects until final inspections are complete. The warranty will not begin until the final inspections are complete. Barrel roof work on the high school has now begun.

Also, Sulkoske noted that heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) work remained ongoing. The switch over from the temporary system to the permanent system should be done by the end of the month.

Cloverdale Community School Corporation Superintendent Dr. Carrie Milner addressed the board regarding the refinancing of the 2005 bond, noting the closing was set for June 20th.

The board approved both the middle school and high school athletic handbooks, as well as an appropriation transfer resolution in order to receive state reimbursement for summer school.

Several field trip, cash transfer and facility use requests were approved. Also, Dr. Milner was granted approval to hire necessary staff prior to the board’s August 12, 2013 meeting.

In the final act of the night, the board approved several personnel matters, including the hiring of new head varsity football coach and social studies teacher, Jarrod Duff.
