I-70 Project Will Close The Eastbound Ramps At State Road 243 Today

According to information released through the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), the resurfacing project on I-70 will close the eastbound exit ramp to State Road 243 (S.R. 243) Exit 37, beginning today, Tuesday, August 6 from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday to resurface the ramp. The contractor then plans to close the S.R. 243 on ramp to eastbound I-70 on Wednesday, August 7 at 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 8.

This project on I-70 will resurface the interstate from three miles west of S.R. 243 to just over one half of one mile west of US 231. This project was awarded to Rieth-Riley Construction for $7.2 million. This project is scheduled for completion by August 16, 2013.

The work schedule is subject to change in the event of inclement weather. INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone.
