SWCD Looking To Reduce Erosion In The Limestone Creek Watershed

Staff Report

The Owen County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is looking for landowners in the Limestone Creek Watershed that have problems with soil erosion. The Limestone Creek Watershed is roughly bordered by Truesdel Road to the north, Smith Road to the east, Williams Road to the south, and Country Club and McFerron Roads to the west.

The Owen County SWCD currently has a grant to reduce nutrient and sediment runoff in the described area. This grant will provide assistance for landowners that use best management practices to achieve the goals of the grant.

Interested landowners should contact the SWCD office at 829-2605, or email Sara Campfield at saracampfield@iaswcd.org.

Applicants will be evaluated based on the Locally Led criteria developed for the county earlier this year. Applications will be accepted until Monday, November 25.
