Purdue Extension Gathering Data On Health And Nutritional Needs

Staff Report

Brooke Wilkinson, Purdue Extension Health & Human Services Educator for Owen and Clay counties, is currently conducting a community needs assessment, focusing on health concerns and determining programming needs specific to Owen County via an online survey.

“The goal of the health assessment is to help me better identify what the community’s health and nutritional needs are and identify places where those needs are not being met. As a health and human sciences educator for Purdue Extension-Owen County, I provide a variety of programs that focus on different areas including foods and nutrition, human development, health, and family resource management,” Wilkinson explained. “My hope is that with the results of this survey, in addition to input from the members of the Owen County Extension Board and my health advisory committee, I will be able to focus on specific program areas to meet the needs of Owen County community members. I’m pleased to say that I have had at least 70 responses to this point.”

The survey can be found online at www.purdue. qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_ 1AgLuIbDA7iny2p, or via a link on the Purdue Extension Owen County Facebook page.
