Elementary School

Carson Hall, son of Larry and Sheryl Hall, was named student of the month at Cloverdale Elementary School. Carson is a third grader is Mrs. Collins’ class and lists his favorite subject as math. Outside of school, he is involved in a variety of sports including soccer, basketball and swimming. He also enjoys being creative and would like to become a painter when he is older.

Mrs. Collins nominated Carson by saying, “I have had the privilege of working with Carson since the beginning of his second grade year. Carson came to my third grade classroom each day last year for third grade math. He loved the challenge of the higher math level and excelled to the top of my class each grading period. I knew that special arrangements were made for Carson to come during third grade math time, but it wasn’t until the last grading period that I found out that Carson was giving up recess each day to come to my math class. I don’t know of any other second or third graders that would do that! Now that I have Carson as a third grader and spend more time with him, I see just how special he is. His work ethic is top notch and he will not stop until he is sure that he understands the skill and has done his best. Best of all is the kindness that Carson shows toward others. Carson truly treats everyone with kindness and respect. Carson shows every day the qualities that make up this award.”

Middle School

Adriana Mitchell, daughter of John and Robin Mitchell, has been named student of the month at Cloverdale Middle School. Adriana lists her favorite class as RTI. She is involved in cheerleading and track and field and in her spare time, loves to camp with her family and sew. She would like to attend college when she is older, but still stay close to home. She would like to eventually become a doctor or a veterinarian.

Mrs. Meluch said, “Adriana always takes her time to make sure she is turning in her best work. She is very conscientious in making sure she is doing her school work correctly and getting all her work turned in a timely way. She is courteous to others and works well in her groups in class. She makes sure she is responsible in class and is a great example for others.”

High School

Mitchell Stacy, son of Robert and Bonita Stacy, was named student of the month at Cloverdale High School. A senior, Mitchell lists his favorite subjects as band, English and math and his hobbies include music, reading, writing and drawing. His extra-curricular activities include marching band, pep band, drum line, Ambassadors and student council.

Mitchell commented on the award by saying, “This is an extraordinary honor and I am very thankful to my parents, teachers and the band, because I wouldn’t be who I am without their help and support.”

Mrs. Sewell, CHS counselor had this to say: “Mitchell Stacy is the epitome of what an awesome student is! Not only is Mitchell an awesome student, he is honest, kind, caring, giving, trustworthy, respectful, responsible, fair and shows perseverance! What more could we ask for? Mitchell has the work ethic he needs to be successful in his future endeavors. Mitchell is also very involved in our school, and always represents CHS well. Mitchell is a wonderful young man!”
