Mary Lou Branneman Wenning, 68

Let Us Pause To Honor the Memory of Mrs. Mary Lou Branneman Wenning

Mrs. Mary Lou Branneman Wenning, age 68, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on January 25, 1945 in Greencastle, Indiana. She was the loving daughter of Cleon and Maxine Neese Branneman. She was raised in Cloverdale and was a 1963 graduate of Cloverdale High School.

Mary Lou began her career with Public Service of Indiana and she met her husband to be there. She was united in marriage on March 8, 1968 in Plainfield to Marvin N. Wenning. This happy union of forty five years was blessed with a son, Marc and a daughter, Meri Jo.

Mary Lou and Marvin resided in Plainfield for many years and she was employed with Indianapolis Power and Light from 1968-1974 and Marvin worked for Public Service.

They moved to Madison in March 1977 and Marvin was employed with Marble Hill and she worked with Goodyear Tire as a service representative. Mary Lou had also worked with Hall’s Laundry and for Kim Smith, Jefferson County Clerk for several years. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. Mary Lou was a talented musician and enjoyed singing in the Music Valley Singers. She was a passionate member of the American Red Cross and traveled to help at many disasters. She also was artistic and enjoyed sharing those talents with others, either with something knitted, crocheted or a special craft she had made. Mary Lou loved traveling, going on cruises and being with her family.

She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer five and a half years ago and in true Mary Lou style she fought this battle with enduring strength and courage. Mary Lou will be remembered by her family as the devoted wife, loving mom, adoring mamaw, caring daughter and sister. Mary Lou died on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at 2:21 a.m. at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

A LOVING FAMILY

Mary Lou will be missed by her loving husband of forty five years, Marvin N. Wenning of Madison, Indiana; her loving son, Marc Wenning and his wife, Courtney of Independence, Kentucky; her loving daughter, Meri Jo Thorpe and her husband, Mark of Hanover, Indiana; her loving mother, Maxine Neese Branneman of Clarksville, Indiana; her loving sister, Betty Jo Steele and her husband, Dale of Charlestown, Indiana; her loving brothers, David Branneman and his wife, Doris of Mitchell, Indiana, Dean Branneman and his wife, Ronda of Jeffersonville, Indiana; her brothers-in-law, Michael Roll of Jeffersonville, Indiana, John Roll and his wife, Debbie of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Dave Roll and his wife, Betty of Starlight, Indiana; her adoring grandchildren, Matthew, Kristin and Aiden; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by loving father, Cleon Branneman.

THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL

Funeral Mass was conducted Monday, January 13, 2014, by Father Christopher A. Craig at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 413 East Second Street in downtown Madison, Indiana. Interment followed in the St. Joseph Cemetery in downtown Madison, Indiana
