Raymond J. Fulton, 84

Raymond J. Fulton Raymond J. Fulton After a yearlong battle with cancer, Raymond “Jack” Fulton 84, Spencer, formerly of Speedway, joined his middle son Jeffrey at the Lord’s Heavenly gates on April 30, 2014.

Jack was the son of Clyde T. Fulton, Sr. (for whom Fulton Junior High was named) and Gertrude Fulton. He was born in Speedway, Indiana in 1929. A star football player for Speedway High School, he married his high school sweetheart and wife of over 64 years, Clona Basch, upon graduation. Jack patriotically served his country as a United States Marine. He was a proud member of Sheetmetal Worker’s Local #20 and went on to found his own company, Fulton Air Balance. He was also a member of American Legion Post #500, St. Christopher Catholic Church in Speedway and St. Paul Catholic Church, Greencastle.

Jack never met a man he didn’t like. He always greeted you with a bright smile, firm handshake and funny joke. He was an avid golfer but his favorite pastime was always working his Owen County tree farm—a legacy his great grandchildren will enjoy.

In addition to his wife, Clona Basch Fulton, he is survived by son Christopher Fulton; daughter Christin Fulton; son and daughter-in-law Paul and Charlotte Fulton; and grandchildren Jacob Fulton, Rachel Fulton Stewart, and Gabrielle Fulton. He was preceded in death by son Jeffrey Fulton. The funeral service was held May 5 at St. Christopher Church with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Indianapolis Humane Society. Online condolences may be shared at http://www.conklefuneralhome.com
