Auditions Set At Putnam County Playhouse, June 15-16

There will be two sessions of auditions for the musical production “Little Shop of Horrors” at Putnam County Playhouse. The first session will be Sunday, June 15, at 3 p.m. A second session will be held on Monday, June 16, at 7 p.m. Both auditions will be at the Hazel Day Longden Theatre in Greencastle.

“Little Shop of Horrors” will be produced August 7-9 and August 13-16. The production is being sponsored by Shuee & Sons and Eitel’s Flowers.

Director Bryan Schroeder is looking for cast members for all roles. They include Seymour, a flower shop assistant who discovers an unusual plant; Audrey, the girl Seymour loves; Mr. Mushnick, the owner of the shop where they both work; Orin, a local dentist who is also Audrey’s boyfriend. There is also a girls trio of singers typical of the 1960s girl groups. A strong singer is also needed to be the voice of Audrey Two, the deadly plant. A small ensemble may also be used. There are no roles for children in this show.

Those auditioning should be prepared to sing 16 measures of a song, read from the script, and take part in a short dance audition.
