Cloverdale School Board Welcomes Brad Sandy And Dawn Tucker As New CES, CMS Principals

The Cloverdale School Board took time to announce and welcome new administration to the elementary and middle schools. (Staff Photo) The Cloverdale Community School Corporation Board of Director convened July 14th for their monthly meeting with six of seven members in attendance.

After going over routine matter, the board moved on to hear a brief building project update from Dan Sulkoske before learning of 2014-2015 bus inspection and registration updates from CCSC Superintendent Dr. Carrie Milner.

According to Milner, all buses have passed and are in good condition. Website registration will be ready to go July 28 and in house registration will be held on Tuesday, August 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. New student registration is accepted at any time.

Under new business, the board approved the 2105 budget adoption schedule and the annual financial report. Texbook rental fees were also approved, although a few fees at the high school level were still being adjusted. New school year fees were set to be in line with the previous year’s fees.

The board approved the following facility use requests:

•Sydney Shrum/College Golf Team, CHS Weight Room, weight training

•Kathy Moore/Volleyball, CMS Gym, fall dance

Professional leave requests were granted for Angie Ranard, Kim Rich, Doug Wokoun, Dawn Tucker, Cathy Ames and Brad Sandy. Field trip requests were approved for the Cloverdale Band for six dates throughout August and the first week of September. Several cash tranfers requests were also approved.

The board approved a long list of personnel matters, highlighted by the promotion and reassignment of Brad Sandy as principal at Cloverdale Elementary, Dawn Tucker as principal at Cloverdale Middle School and Cathy Ames as CMS assistant principal after learning of the resignation of Stacey Baugh as CES/CMS principal. Baugh is leaving the corporation to become assistant superintendent at Mill Creek Community School Corporation.

“I want to thank her,” Dr. Milner noted. “She has done an amazing job. She will be missed.”

The next meeting of the Cloverdale School Board will take place Monday, August 11 at 7:00 p.m. at the Arthur C. Johnson Administration Building.
