Cloverdale Teen Airlifted To Riley Following September 18th Crash

A 14-year-old Cloverdale girl was airlifted to Riley Children’s Hospital on Thursday, September 18 following a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 231 at Harmony Road in Clay County.

Hannah Dickision was a passenger in the 2012 Ford Fusion driven by her father, Douglas Dickison, 44, of Cloverdale. Mr. Dickison had been westbound on U.S. 40 when he attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Harmony Road, entering the path of an oncoming, eastbound 2011 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Scott Hillligoss of Reelsville. Dickison’s vehicle was struck on its passenger side, where the teen was sitting in the passenger seat.

The father and daughter were initially transported to St. Vincent Clay Hospital in Brazil where Han- nah was later airlifted to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment of internal injuries. Douglas Dicksion was treated for rib and abdomen injuries, while Hilligoss, also transported to St. Vincent Clay Hospital, was treated for arm injuries.

The investigation by Indiana State Police Trooper Ian Portteus revealed all parties were wearing seat belts. Douglas Dickison was cited for failure to yield the right of way.

The crash occurred just before 5:45 p.m.
