The official dedication took place naming the paved walk they installed the Alysha Bishop Walk Path. Angela Ladd, Civic League Founder and President said “it’s been a long road but we perservered. We have donated approximately $200,000 in projects and equipment to the park through extensive fundraising and grant writing. The park is very important to our members and we have maintained an ongoing relationship with the park board. We are thrilled with the outcome. Our park is beautiful, well maintained and most importantly always filled with children playing and families gathering.”

Alicia Bishop was the Emerging Butterfly whose name was selected. She was injured in a severe boating accident in 2005 and has been through intensive rehabilitation and prayer. Her family fully expects her to walk the path on her next visit to Indiana as she resides with her parents in Tennessee.
