Anton “Tony” Pittl, 85

Anton “Tony” Pittl Anton “Tony” Pittl Anton F. “Tony” Pittl, 85 of Cataract, passed away at his residence on Friday, November 7, 2014. He was born on October 10, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio and was the son of Anton and Karolina [Spachek] Pittl. Tony was married to Nadine Combs on April 24, 1948 at Spencer.

He was a member of the Cataract Baptist Church for 54 years and was a former Trustee for the church. He attended the Cuba School.

He worked for Collier Lumber Company, S & S Lumber Company as a carpenter, then later became self-employed at Pittl and Smith Construction. He finally retired in 1992, but not before being responsible and having the privilege of building and remodeling homes, churches and building the First National Bank Branch in Cloverdale.

He enjoyed being around his loving family and playing with his great-grandsons. He enjoyed watching his western shows.

He is survived by his loving wife Nadine of 66 years, his daughter, Nadine Gay Pursel and husband Rick, granddaughter, Dusti Lynn and 2 great-grandsons, Dominick “Nick” and Hunter and his brother-in-law Russell D. Combs and wife Glenda,

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Helen “Goldie” Phillips, his brothers, John J. Pittl and Karl Pittl, his grandson, Richard Tony Pursel and his brother-in-law, Wallace Combs and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale with Rev. Jerry Huber officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Cataract Cemetery.
