Snowsaurus Comes To Life Along U.S. 231N

For each of the last nine years, Payten Simpson has waited for just the right ‘packing snow’ to accumulate in the front yard of her father’s home along U.S. 231 North.

Now a sophomore at Cloverdale High School, 17- year- old Payten was able to replicate a ‘Snowsaurus’ creation she and her dad Steve Simpson had constructed outside of Cloverdale Elementary School when she was in the first grade.

The father and daughter duo started on the green, snowy creature on Saturday, February 21 and worked two to three hours a day for the next five days bringing the creation to life.

“It got so cold that the snow wouldn’t pack, so I had to take my heater down there to melt the snow just so I could finish it,” Steve said. “It was hard, but we started it so we had to finish.” (Staff Photos)
