Man Sentenced For 2012 Poland Bank Robbery, And Four Others

A Zionsville man will serve up to 70 months in federal prison after he pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Indianapolis to five bank robberies.

Alan Wayne McCormick, 47, was sentenced on Friday, March 13 after pleading guilty to five counts of armed robbery, including a September 18, 2012 hold up at the First Financial Bank in Poland.

McCormick was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison, along with an additional three years of supervised release or federal probation, as well as the repayment of $61,860 in restitution.

McCormick reportedly walked into the Poland bank, displayed a handgun to tellers and demanded money. After securing an undisclosed amount, he fled on foot.

In addition to the Poland robbery, McCormick’s was indited by a grand jury in June 2014 for robbing the Citizens Bank in Eminence in 2010, Hoosier Hills Heartland Banks in Ladoga and Linden in 2013 and 2014, and the Fountain Trust Bank in Darlington in March 2014.
