Robert Earl Ellison Robert Earl Ellison Robert Earl Ellison, 87, of Poland, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born November 8, 1928 in North Vernon to Henry and Ruby (Fields) Ellison. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a Purple Heart recipient. He retired from Indianapolis Car and Truck. He was a member of the Spencer American Legion, VFW, Past Commander of the Disabled American Veterans in Bloomfield, and Chosin Few. He enjoyed Bowling in the Senior Games in Bloomington and riding his motorcycle.

Robert is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara (Lewis) Ellison; four children, Anita (Jim) Williams, Linda (Mark) Terrell and Joy (Jake) Moore all of Poland; sister Delores Williams of Riverside ,CA; twelve grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Charles “Butch” Gaither; and a brother, Paul “Rocky” Ellison.

No services are planned. Arrangements are with West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer.
