Etta Pearl Hinote, 104

Etta Pearl Hinote Etta Pearl Hinote Etta Pearl Hinote, age 104, of Reelsville, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016.

Born July 16, 1912 in Putnamville, IN, she was the daughter of Harley and Emma (Estep) Head and was a graduate of Greencastle High School “Class of 1930”

Etta was a cashier at Lanzone’s Stop and Shop Grocery in Greencastle for 27 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Greencastle; Golden Circle Club of Manhattan, since 1960; 25 year member of the Putnam County Hospital Guild (volunteer in the Gift Shop); and volunteered over 20 years at the Putnam County Senior Center.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly DeWeese, sons, Charles H. Amers, William Lee (Betty) Amers, and Richard H. Amers; stepdaughters, Erma Pitts and Reba Morley; daughter-in-law, Diane Amers; three grandchildren; five step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Amers and Joseph C. Hinote; her son, John R. Amers; sisters, Mary Glover and Louise Johnson, brothers, Estel and Olan Head; and son-in-law, Eugene DeWeese.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory to the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church 3988 S. Co. Rd 300 W. Greencastle, IN 46135.
