Spencer-Owen Board candidate field set for November election

Six candidates will vie for two seats representing Washington Township and the Town of Spencer for the Spencer-Owen Community Schools Board of Trustees in this November’s General Election.

Four open seats in three districts are on the ballot, while a seat on the Cloverdale Schools Corporation Board of Trustees is also open.

The openings for SOCS include two in District Five, which encompasses Washington Township and the Town of Spencer. Incumbents Sonia Brinson and Brian Mauder have both to file for re-election. Four newcomers to the board have also filed: Lewis Moke, Jeff Sherfield, Marie Ann Haraburda and Tamra Ranard.

An opening is also to be filled in District One, encompassing Wayne and Harrison townships. Newcomer Chad Cooper is the only candidate to file.

In District Four, making up Clay and Franklin townships, incumbent Rick Smeltzer is the only candidate to file as well.

For Cloverdale Schools, JaceAnn Troutt is the only candidate to file.
