Art show at Fillmore UMC

James A. Lyon, of Russiaville, Indiana will be holding an Art Show on Friday, September 9, at the Fillmore United Methodist Church, FREE to the public from 12 noon to 8 pm.

James (Jamie) is a former member of Fillmore United Methodist Church and has been serving as a pastor with the Quaker Church of central Indiana for the last 20 years, serving in Morgan, Hendricks and Howard Counties. Jamie is a 1985 graduate of Cascade High School and a 1988 graduate of Vincennes University with a degree in Commercial Art and Design. His show will include, freelance and commissioned works that he has accomplished over the last 30 years.

In the Fall of last year his congregation of Russiaville Friends Church blessed him with a 90 day sabbatical where he travelled to all 92 counties of Indiana and studied works by Hoosier Artist T.C. Steele.

Jamie married Carol Perkins of Danville in 1991 and the couple just celebrated their 25 wedding anniversary last April.

They have three children, Nathan (22), Hannah (19), and Olivia (17), and have been serving in the Russiaville community for 13 years. Jamie is the oldest son of former Sheriff Richard Lyon and Mrs. Jeneene Lyon, residents of Fillmore.
