Locally shot film ‘Reparation’ to be shown Thursday at the Tivoli

A locally shot feature film currently in national release and screening in 15 cities will be shown at the Tivoli Theatre in Spencer this Thursday, Sept. 22.

“Reparation,” a gripping psychological thriller about an Air Force veteran piecing together his lost memories, is the winner of 11 film festival awards. The film will be presented for a one time screening.

A question and answer session with co-writer and producer Steve Timm, a Professor of Communication and Theatre at De- Pauw University, actress Dale Dye Thomas and scenic artist Babara Fields Timm at 7:00 p.m.

Reparation is written by Timm and Kyle Ham, a 1994 DePauw graduate who also filmed the movie, and stars Jon Huertas, Marc Menchaca and Virginia Newcomb. The suspenseful drama is a festival-favorite of audiences and juries, winning 11 awards in just nine appearances on the circuit, including the Audience Choice awards at the Austin Film Festival and Sedona Int’l Film Festival, and Best Film at the Santa Fe Film Festival.

Shot entirely in Putnam County during the summer of 2014, the film features many local actors and musicians. The film is suggested for mature audiences.

The film’s synopsis notes: Bob Stevens struggles with a three-year hole in his memory. And when a mysterious stranger comes to town claiming to have been his best friend from the Air Force Police, Bob’s peaceful existence rapidly unravels. His family is caught in the storm, but none more than his eight year-old daughter who discovers she has inherited her father’s missing years...stowaways on her DNA.
