Walk-a-Thon Celebrates

New Endeavor Communications Fiber Optic Connection

Fillmore, Ind. (April 28, 2017) —Endeavor Communications and Fillmore Elementary School are celebrating today the installation of a vital, new fiber optic cable link during the school’s annual Walk-a-Thon. The new fiber connection created a much-needed data link from Fillmore Elementary School to South Putnam High School to help improve the digital educational experience for students.

“Fillmore Elementary’s Walk-a-Thon is a perfect setting to celebrate this latest example of the continuing support by Endeavor of the communities we serve, because the Fillmore school’s students, educators and administration are the ones that ultimately benefit from the new fiber connection,” said Endeavor Communications President and CEO Darin LaCoursiere.

“Equipping our schools with fiber optic technology is crucial because it provides a super-fast, and reliable transmission link and creates the maximum bandwidth needed to carry large amounts of vital information and rich content. That means our centers of learning will have the critical connectivity they need to sustain their excellence,” added Jay Watkins, Endeavor Vice-President of Operations and Strategic Planning.

The Walk-a-Thon’s theme of critical connections is appropriate for a second reason, since part of the walking route included traveling along the People Pathways Vandalia Trail–which has been recently extended connecting eastern Putnam County to the Town of Coatesville–with the help of generous donations from the local communities including one by Endeavor Communications.

“Endeavor is pleased to be able to provide support for this cause,” Watkins continued. “The trail system benefits everyone in the community and provides greenspaces and walking trails needed to help promote a healthy lifestyle.” Joy Marley, People Pathways volunteer added, “People Pathways Vandalia Trail committee is happy to be a partner in this project as we work together to help keep our community connected physically, geographically, and technologically.”

The Walk-a-Thon is a school fundraiser in which participants receive pledges to help increase funding for school PTO student activities and a portion of the school’s Book Club.
