Letter To The Editor

On behalf of the Putnam County Board of REALTORS ®, I would like to thank everyone that participated in our Community Shred Event on Saturday, April 29th. The event was sponsored by Earl & Co, CPA and Daniel Builders, who covered the cost of the shredding truck, enabling us to provide the shred service for free to the community.

Despite the wind and rain, several individuals and businesses brought 3.44 TONS of paper to Saturday’s event to be securely shredded and recycled. According to ProShred, recycling the contents of the shredded paper from our event saved 58 trees. Many participants chose to make a donation to the Putnam County Board of REALTORS® Scholarship fund, which allows us to grow our endowment with the Putnam County Community

Foundation. This will benefit Putnam County High School Seniors in years to come.

Through our endowment, the Putnam County Board of REALTORS® will award $2000 in Scholarships to Putnam County High School Seniors (4 - $500 scholarships) over the next two weeks.

Thank you to everyone that participated and to those REALTORS that volunteered - Traci Dobson, Elizabeth Kienzynski, MaryAnn Pearson, Suzy Schneider, George Schneider, Jana Sillery, Chris Skillern, and Cecil VanArsdale. We would also like to thank the Greencastle High School National Honor Society (Marin Nally & Leo Weeks) for their help.
