C.H.O.I.C.E. Award winner Jeffrey Gilliam

Cloverdale Middle School staff rewards positive student behaviors and achievements through our school’s C.H.O.I.C.E. program. C.H.O.I.C.E. (Clovers showing Honesty,Ownership, Integrity, Citizenship and Effort) cash, which is a paper coupon, is distributed consistently by all staff including teachers, office staff, cafeteria and custodial staff, bus drivers, and instructional assistants. Students receive C.H.O.I.C.E. cash when exhibiting positive behavior without prompting from adults. For example, students have received C.H.O.I.C.E. cash for: helping other students in academic and social situations, putting forth much effort in the classroom, displaying honesty in any given situation, and taking ownership for their choices and actions.

This year the C.H.O.I.C.E. committee set out to involve community stakeholders in order to provide some exciting prizes. The first large prize that was raffled off was a XBox 1S, donated by Endeavor Communications. The second prize that was raffled was a Dre Beats Pill, donated by Cloverdale Drugs. Our last big prize of the year was a Drone, donated By Haywood’s Auto. The drawing was held on May 24th and the winner was 6th grader Jeffrey Gilliam. We feel extremely blessed to have such amazing businesses in Cloverdale!
