On July 14, the thirteenth annual Mary Allison Golf Outing at Clover Meadows Golf Course, Cloverdale will help raise funds for the Mary Allison Children’s Trust that is the legacy of the original orphan’s home.

Every year each Putnam County elementary school is given $1,000 from the Fund to provide financial assistance for healthcare, education and welfare for the children of Putnam County.

At least 10 children from each of the county elementary schools receive financial aid each year from the trust. Monies are unrestricted, meaning school officials can use them for any purpose as long as it benefits the students.

Trust primary focus is the elementary age students; however it is also available to assist middle and high schools students. School Officials contact the Board of Directors when there is a need.

Registration for the golf outing begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch(catered by the Putnam Inn) at noon and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Cost of the golf outing is $200 per team and $50 for hole sponsors.

Prizes will be given: $200 for first place, $100 for second and $50 for third. There will also be door prizes, and mulligans are three for $10.

The public is invited to participate in this annual event.

Trust Patrons for the golf outing include: York Automotive, Wal-Mart Distribution, Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church, Greencastle Rotary Club, Hayes Murphy Sharp Brackney Insurance, Humphreys Outdoor Power, Mennonite Mutual Insurance Company, Pearl’s Landscaping Construction Tri-County Bank & Trust, Village Theater (Frank Katris) and Wabash Capital.
