Jenna Jones named Academic All-MAC

Miami University student athlete Jenna Jones has been named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team. Eight members of Miami’s softball team earned a spot on this year’s team.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.

Jones, from Greencastle, is earning a Bachelor of Science majoring in Family Studies, Educational Psychology.

Miami University student athletes finished the spring 2017 semester with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.31, the second highest GPA ever for a single semester. Overall, nearly 67 percent of the RedHawks finished with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and 40 of those student-athletes recorded a 4.0 GPA.
