Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center offering Navigation Program to patients

The care team at Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center understand how frightening and confusing a diagnosis of cancer can be. That is why they developed a Breast and Lung Cancer Navigation Program.

Navigation is a process of care management that begins when a person receives a suspicious finding on their mammogram, nodule in their lung or a cancer diagnosis. This one-on-one assistance helps to ensure timely diagnosis and treatment by addressing needs that may arise during this experience.

Dedicated cancer navigators are nurses with specialized training and knowledge of specific cancers and a great compassion for those struggling with cancer.

The Nurse Navigator functions as a liaison to enhance the quality and continuity of care and help guide through all of the complexities that a diagnosis of cancer can create. The navigators at Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center currently specialize in breast and lung cancers.

Our navigators help you to understand your diagnosis and the treatment options you have. They may coordinate tests and medical appointments, transportation and will assist you in accessing appropriate resources and referrals to other specialists that will assist in your care.

The Navigation Program is free to patients. For more information, please call 765-655-2581.
