Tuesday, Aug. 1

Community Help Desk at Heritage Lake 1-3 p.m. Putnam County Public Library will hold a Community Help Desk at the Heritage Lake Clubhouse to diagnose and help repair your computer and electronics. If your computer problem is severe enough, or would take longer than 30 minutes to fix, we may recommend you take it to a professional. The Community Help Desk is first-come first-served and is free and open to the public. Patrons must accompany their computers or electronics at all times, please no drop offs. Patrons may bring in laptops, desktop towers, tablets, cell phones, anything electronic. Please bring any power cables with you.

Yarn Perch, 5-8 p.m. Need Crochet help or Crochet Companionship? Jo MacPhail will take her Yarn Perch (located on the balcony above the lobby) every Thursday evening to help those in need.

Play Mah Jongg, 6-8 p.m. For those who know the game. Newcomers need to contact Janice at DarksidersMaxine@msn.com to arrange for instruction.

Wednesday, Aug. 2

Mah Jongg Game, 12:30-3 p.m. For all players who know the game (not the computer version). Newcomers are welcome to watch and learn.

Ancient Practices for Modern Healing, 5-6:30 p.m. Vibrational Medicine. In this session you’ll see a presentation and experience the use of sound such as chanting, singing, laughter, and mantras for healing.

Time Travelin’ Genealogy Guild, 67 p.m. Join a group of local family history gurus to learn tips and tricks, share stories, and discover new resources. This month we’ll be discussing upcoming changes to the FamilySearch microfilm distribution service.

Learn to Crochet, 6-7:30 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 3

Bridge for Everyone, 1:30-3:30 p.m. Come to an open bridge game on Thursday afternoons in the Kiwanis room. All who enjoy bridge are invited to attend, regardless of skill level. This group will be facilitated by Dorothy Brown. If you have questions, please contact Barbara Timm at btimm@ PCPL21.org.

LGBTQ+ Book Club, 6-7 p.m. The LGBTQ+ Book Club will be reading “Boy Meets Boy” by David Levithan for the August meeting. The library has copies of the book available for checkout and for free at the reference desk. Refreshments will be provided. For more information, contact Sarah Myers at smyers@pcpl21.org.

Imagination Portal Unplugged, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Looking for a little quiet time? These hours are for you. Enjoy the Imagination Portal without monitors, video games, or music in the background.

Safety and Security on the Internet at Heritage Lake, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Safety and Security on the Internet class will discuss safeguarding your privacy and keeping your computer and information secure while using the Internet. 11 classes are for beginners and are free and open to the public but registration is required since space is limited.

PCPL has a computer technician available to diagnose and help repair your computer and electronics. Most computer problems can be repaired in 20 minutes but if your computer problem is severe enough, or would take longer than 30 minutes to fix, we may recommend you take it to a professional.
