The Putnam County Master Gardeners Association invites interested folks to hear Heather Perkins present “Growing Vegetables and Herbs for a Healthy Family and Healthy Animals.” DePauw’s Julian Math and Science Center, Room 251. Refreshments and visiting at 6:30 p.m., program at 7-8 p.m.

September 7

Celebrate Poland! Featuring Poland School Reunion 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Memorabilia, Live Music, Karaoke, Vendors, Baked Goods, Auction, Concessions by Lions Club (Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, etc.), Elephant Ears, Homemade Ice Cream.

September 10

The Annual Phelps Reunion will be held from noon - 4 p.m. at the Red Bud Hill Reception Hall in Rockville, Ind. A meal will be served at 1 p.m. Bring a covered dish, utensils, stories, photos, family information and memories to share. Anyone related/ connected to Phelps families, all Phelps Sectors families, no matter the origin or spelling of the name, are invited.

September 12

Putnam County Retired Teachers will kick off the annual meeting schedule at noon at the Putnam Inn on Tuesday, September 12. All retired teachers and beneficiaries of the Indiana Retired Teachers Retirement Fund are welcome to join us for the first and future meetings. Other meetings this year will be in October, November, March, April, and May. At the first meeting members are invited to bring donations for the Putnam County Non Food Pantry.

The Cataract Lake Area Crime Watch meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Cataract Country School House on Cataract- Cunot Rd. We will be reviewing the Sheriff report and have Crime Witch signs there for sale. Come out and bring a couple friends.

Parke County Tox- Away Day. Attention Parke, Putnam and Montgomery County residents! Don’t miss your last chance in 2017 to attend a Tox-Away Day on at the Parke County 4-H Fairgrounds in Rockville from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. (rain or shine).

Tox Away Days are annual events sponsored by West Central Solid Waste District that provide residents the opportunity to recycle or safely dispose of household hazardous items such as appliances, tires, electronics, & chemicals for free or reduced rates.
