October computer classes at Putnam County Library

Putnam County Public Library will be offering three computer classes in October. The computer classes being offered are lecture classes instead of our usual hands-on classes and are designed to introduce patrons to the Internet.

On Friday, Oct. 6, from 11 am to 1 p.m., Introduction to the Internet will introduce patrons to search engines, browsers, and some of the best websites on the Internet. On Friday, Oct. 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., our Safety and Security on the Internet class will discuss safeguarding your privacy and keeping your computer and information secure while using the Internet.

Friday, Oct. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Introduction to Cloud Computing will introduce patrons to cloud computing, demonstrate free cloud software from Google and Microsoft, and explain why cloud computing is the way the world will be using computers in the future.

All classes are for beginners and are free and open to the public but registration is required since space is limited. Classes are two hours long with a break. To sign up for any of the upcoming classes, you can view the library website at pcpl21.org, call Mike at 765-653-2755 Ext. 118, or stop by our circulation or reference desks at the library.
