Putnam County Master Gardeners Association invites interested folks to hear Donna Harcourt, acrylic and watercolor artist and national teacher, show how to paint flowers and garden-related things. Cataract Lake Area Crime Watch meeting at 6:30 p.m. will be held at the Cataract Lake Yacht Club on N. State Rd. 243, just north of SR 42. A regular meeting, area report from sheriff’s office.

Eighth annual Cataract Lake Area Crime Watch Fish Fry will be held on the grounds of the Cataract Schoolhouse during the Cataract VFD Bean Festival, Oct. 7-8. All proceeds will go to support the efforts of the Cataract Lake Area Crime Watch and the local police. Come out and enjoy a meal with your friends, neighbors and local police officers.

Eminence Baptist Church Harvest Dinner, bring a covered dish at 4 p.m. and enjoy Lloyd Wood in concert at 6 p.m.

Dining in the Dark for blindness awareness will be held at 6 p.m. at Cloverdale Middle School. This fun and educational evening is the Eagle Scout project of Eddie Mannan of Cloverdale. Tickets are $20 each. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Castlemakers CoderDojo, a free community-based computer programming club open to all young people, will meet Saturday, from 1-4 pm at 19 E. Franklin Street in Greencastle. Putnam County Retired Teachers Association will meet at the Putnam Inn at noon. Sandy Grimes will give a program on the Humane Society of Putnam County followed by a business meeting including a discussion of proposed PCRTA constitution updates. The Girton Family Band will be performing for the first time in the Greencastle area at the Putnamville United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. They now make their home in Vevay, Ind., however, Jerry Girton and his father Jerry Girton, Sr. went to school in Greencastle.
