Clovers lose to Rockville, beat Edgewood Mustangs

Cloverdale volleyball lost to Rockville in their annual Pink-out Breast Cancer Awareness match.

The Clovers lost 18-25, 14-25, 17-25.

The Clovers were led at the net by Tori Combs, Kenzie Stoltz, and Justyce Monnet. Defense was lead by Hailey Thomas and Morgan Goss. The service line was lead by Makenzie Stoltz and Hannah Rady.

On Tuesday, Sept. 26, the Clover volleyball team defeated Edgewood 25-22, 28-26, 25-10.

Hannah Rady, junior setter, recorded her 1,000th assist in the third set of the match. Hannah also served 13 match points with five aces.

The attack was led by Tori Combs with 18 kills and six blocks. Mackenzie Stoltz had 11 kills and 10 points with three aces, Justyce Monnett had seven kills, Hailey Thomas had 23 digs.

Coach Traci Scott said, “I was happy with the team performance tonight. We’ve played several games where we led sets and then cannot finish strong with the win. Tonight the Clovers came out ready to play and continued a steady attack throughout the night.”

I feel our record, does not paint a clear picture of our team. I still believe we are a great team that has not peaked and am hoping to finish strong.”
