Clover volleyball finishes regular season

The Cloverdale varsity volleyball team defeated the Eminence Eels on Oct. 3 at home, 25-15, 25- 15, 25-5.

Monday, Oct. 2, the Clovers hosted Indian Creek, falling in five games, 28-26, 25-17, 17- 25, 18-25, 10-15.

According to Cloverdale coach Traci Scott, all of the Clovers had strong performances.

Combined stats for the two contests include Tori Combs with 16 kills and six blocks, Kenzie Stoltz 17 kills and eight aces, Hannah Rady five aces and 42 assists, Hailey Thomas 44 digs and Justyce Monnett 14 kills.

On Oct. 5 the Cloverdale volleyball team defeated Greencastle 25-18, 25-19, 22-25, 20-25, 18-16 in the WIC crossover match.

“The Clovers had lost to the Tiger Cubs twice this season so we knew it would be a battle,” said coach Traci Scott.

The Clovers were led by the strong net attack of Kenzie Stoltz, Tori Combs, and Justyce Monnett. Monnett also had a strong service performance with 17 points and four aces. Hannah Rady had 14 points and three aces. Stoltz had 9 points and three aces. Haley Thomas had 32 digs and seven points. Tori Combs had 10 blocks and is leading the conference in total blocks.

“The girls needed this win. We have lost some very close games this season and it feels great to get a tough victory heading in to sectionals,” said coach Traci Scott.
