Rathal M. Moore Rathal M. Moore On May 5, 2017, Indiana State Police Detective Don Curtis initiated an investigation into allegations of a sexual nature against a Greencastle man, that ultimately led to his arrest. Rathal M. Moore, age 24 of Greencastle, was arrested and booked into the Putnam County Jail just after midnight on October 14, 2017.

During the course of the investigation, evidence led investigators to believe that on or about May 3, 2017, Moore was home alone with an adult female acquaintance, when Moore is alleged to have touched the private areas of the female and then physically forced the victim to perform an act of a sexual nature. Items seized from the scene, a home on Jackson Street in Greencastle, were submitted to the Indiana State Police Laboratory for analysis and those results assisted in the filing of the criminal charge.

The case was investigated by ISP Detective Don Curtis. Assisting were ISP Detective Sergeant Sam Stearley, Indiana State Police Laboratory Division, and the Putnam County Prosecutor’s Office.

Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
