Recently, 16 members of the American Legion family Post 58, wearing reflector vests, conducted our semi-annual “Adopt-A-Highway” trash pickup. Our 2 mile section of highway is IN240, east of Greencastle from mile markers 2-4.

This is a dangerous section of narrow highway in Putnam County with blind curves and hills. We picked up 31 bags of trash which helps keep a major entry to Greencastle clean and beautiful.

We would like to thank Sheriff Stockton, Captain Helmer and Deputy Biggs of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department for slowing traffic to help keep us safe.

This joint effort provides a valuable community service.

Thank you,

Dave Hollis, AL: Post 58 Commander
Tony Sparks, Sons of the American Legion Commander
